On Tuesday, the Winter School District came together to celebrate and support our #5 seed Girls Basketball Team before their first game in the Division 5 WIAA Girls Basketball Tournament. It is an extra special occasion to celebrate because this year marks the 50th anniversary of the girls tournament.
That evening, the Lady Warriors defeated the #12 seed Frederic Vikings to advance to WIAA Regional Round 2. They will take on the South Shore Cardinals this Friday in Port Wing, WI. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM.
Let’s pack the stands and support our girls.

Middle school and high school students from Winter recently traveled to Hayward to take part in an impactful presentation led by Officer Gomez. The presentation focused on important and timely topics, including social media safety, the risks of fake accounts, sexual abuse awareness and healing, suicide prevention and healthy habits, the dangers of vaping, and how to make positive choices in challenging situations.
Officer Gomez shared real-life stories and practical strategies to help students better understand the consequences of their actions, recognize warning signs, and support one another. A key message throughout the presentation was that everyone has their own story, and that seeking help, building healthy habits, and making informed decisions can shape a stronger future.
We are grateful for the opportunity for our students to join Hayward in this meaningful learning experience and continue building awareness, resilience, and responsible decision-making skills.
